The salt cell database
Every figure here is copied from a manufacturer's own manual, carries the date we checked it, and is checked a second time before it appears. Nothing goes up on one reading.
Checked 63 manufacturer manuals on file Spot an error?
The comparison table opens when the first four cells are fully verified and priced. Until then this page publishes what the database actually holds, because a table that looks complete and is not would undo the only thing this site sells.
Two cells have cleared enough of their documents to have a page of their own. Neither carries a price yet, because no capture has been taken, and neither pretends to. The Hayward T-CELL-15, where the suffix on the box changes the warranty from three years to one. The Pentair IC40, the only cell in the database whose maker publishes a rated life. Everything Pentair publishes, including the sentence that decides your term.
What is in the database today
- 7cell models covered
- 63manufacturer manuals on file
- 96facts double-checked against the manual
- 209facts recorded so far
Those counts are read from the repository at build time rather than typed, so this page cannot claim coverage the database does not have.
What the manufacturers do and do not publish
The most useful thing found so far is not a specification. It is which specifications exist at all. Rated cell life in hours is the denominator of every cost question an owner actually asks, and it is the field the category is least willing to publish.
| Cell | Rated life in hours | How we know |
|---|---|---|
| Hayward T-CELL-15 | Not published | Documented absence, checked across 30 archived Hayward documents |
| Pentair IC40 | 10000 | Stated in the manufacturer manual |
A documented absence is a finding, not a gap. It means a named set of manufacturer documents was searched and the figure is genuinely not published, which is worth more to a buyer than a plausible number borrowed from a reseller. It is the kind of answer a listing will never give you, because it undercuts their own copy.
How a field gets into the database
A figure is captured from the manufacturer's own document, archived with its revision and capture date, and then checked again by someone who sees only that manual and nothing else. Where the two passes disagree, nothing publishes. Where the manufacturer states no figure at all, the absence is recorded against the list of documents searched.
