This site exists because the four questions a salt cell owner actually has, what fits, what the warranty says, what it really costs, and whether a listing is honest, are answered badly everywhere else, usually by somebody selling the part.

Salt cell information online is written by people with something to sell. Specifications get copied from listing to listing until nobody can find where a number came from, warranties get flattened to one figure per brand when the real terms change with the SKU and the sales channel, and lifespan claims get repeated with no document behind them at all.
So this reference is built the other way around. Every fact starts in a manufacturer's own archived document. It gets read a second time, independently, by someone who sees only that document and nothing else, and it publishes only when both readings agree exactly. Where they disagree, nothing publishes.

What this site will not do
Most of what makes a reference trustworthy is what it declines to say. These are standing rules, not preferences, and they cost this site money.
- No invented specifications, ever.
- A figure that is not in a manufacturer document does not appear here, even when every listing on the internet agrees on one. Where a maker publishes no figure, this site says so and names the documents it searched.
- No live or retailer-specific prices.
- Prices are published as a dated range across channels, because a single price scraped this morning is stale by the afternoon and a price beside a link is a sales pitch pretending to be data.
- No judgement about a named seller.
- Listings change weekly and this site is checked monthly. Calling one legitimate would be an assurance about a several hundred dollar purchase that could not be kept, so you get the manufacturer’s own channel rules and the checks you can run yourself.
- No affiliate link on pool acid.
- It is the one product in this category that can injure someone, and earning a commission on the hazard while giving instructions for handling it is a worse position than simply publishing the instructions.
- No invented questions.
- The questions on these pages are ones people actually ask. Filling a page with questions nobody asked, to feed a schema block, is how reference sites become noise.
How it is paid for
By commission on links to parts and to the tools these procedures need, and never by a manufacturer. Every one of those links says so in the same block as the link itself, because a disclosure you have to scroll to find is not a disclosure.
Where they are is decided by one rule: a link appears only after a decision has been resolved. There is no purchase link on a page that is still working out what is wrong with your cell, and the only commercial link on a diagnostic page is the salt test kit, because that page tells you to measure your water and the instruction does not work without one. Pool acid will never carry a link, and neither will pool salt, because the page that mentions salt exists to stop you buying salt you do not need.
Corrections
Errors here are worth more than agreement. Anything reported gets checked against the primary document and logged either way, including when the report turns out to be wrong. The full method, and the corrections log.
